Shoes, shoes, shoes. What can we say about them? Women everywhere go mad for them and even the ones that say they are just a necessity are big fat liars. If we’re all honest there’s nothing that us women like more than another woman saying “ooh, I love those shoes, where did you get them? They make you look great”. There really can’t be a bigger high than being told how fabulous you look, it is an instant self esteem boost.

So of course we will start with one of my favourites and a complete classic, the Chanel. An all around great and something that will never go out of fashion. I don’t care how old you are, you have to admit there’s just something about telling your friends that you own a classic pair of Chanels. Because even in today’s society and with all of the new up and coming designers Chanel shoe owners are still envied the world over.

Now, even though Gucci are more famous for their handbags, eyewear and clothing, you really should check out their shoe collection. They are truly wonderful things and I personally don’t think that they get the praise that they deserve. I own three pairs and would never part with them, they may not have a classic look of some of the other designers but I still get asked wherever I go “where did I get my shoes from?” I still get a buzz from being asked this so I will always make sure to wear them with skirts rather than trousers so that you get the full “Gucci effect”.

Another absolutely outstanding designer is of course Manolo Blahnik. Now I really am ashamed to say that I had never come across these until Sex and the city first aired but now I can truly appreciate why Carrie was happy for the mugger to take everything that she owned except for her shoes. I have friends that would lay down their lives for a pair of shoes by this designer and who can blame them? A complete break from the norm, these are truly unique and unlike any designer that I have encountered before.

 And what about Jimmy? The man of the moment, Mr. Jimmy Choo himself. What woman doesn’t want to own a pair of these bad boys? There really isn’t much you can say about them because the quality and design speak for themselves. Never one to shy away, his designs can be really out there but at the same time look really classy and they are most definitely comfortable despite how they sometimes appear.

Now, I really have saved the best till last, it’s the one, the only, Christian Louboutin. This man seems to have exploded onto the fashion scene without warning and now women everywhere are going mad to get their hands on a pair. Whenever you open a fashion magazine they’re there, whenever you read about a celebrity the chances are they’re wearing a pair. Can we really say that about other shoe designers? I don’t think so, so that must tell you something. Yes, that’s right, we have a new kid on the block and hopefully he’s not going away too soon. All hail Mr.Louboutin.
